Sen. Ben Allen
Insurance Commissioner
California State Senator Ben Allen has found the balance between innovating in the legislature and protecting his constituency, something all public servants promise but few actually achieve. Allen looks to bring that same stability to a new role, as the next California Insurance Commissioner, Allen looks to make necessary trouble for the insurance companies, while at the same time supporting his fellow Californians. As senator of California’s Senate District 24, Allen experienced first hand the negligence and predatory practices of insurance companies in the wake of the devastating 2025 Pacific Palisades fire. His time as senator also imparted on Allen the vital experience of working within the California legislature, an indispensable skill for an insurance commissioner to apply real change to the state’s insurance system. Allen, being the former chair of the Environmental Quality Committee, has an intimate understanding of the climate crisis’ effects on Californians, not least of which being the rising inaccessibility of insurance due to fire concerns. Allen’s ongoing attention to the climate and the resulting insurance related inequity, will make it easier for those who love this state to continue to call California home. His proven track record, in conjunction with his well crafted plan for making much needed change to our state’s insurance system, compels the SCV Dems to proudly endorse Ben Allen for California Insurance Commissioner.
